The Obsidian Manifest
Mark Lee July 2026
I wanted to capture the exact micro-second of Divine Epiphany—the moment a Goddess reveals her presence or manifests her power to a mortal. She appears in human form, extraordinarily beautiful and larger than life; it is that breath-stealing moment when the veil between worlds thins and a presence of pure, unadulterated power commands the atmosphere. In this piece, I have pushed the boundaries of digital impasto, layering the paint with such heavy, 3D textural weight that you can almost feel the heat of the golden aura radiating from the canvas. The background is not merely a color; it is a violent, beautiful collision of thick physical strokes that build a cathedral of light around her form.
Her attire—a gleaming, midnight-black latex—is rendered with a sensory realism that contrasts sharply against the chaotic energy of her manifestation. I have obsessively sculpted the way the light catches the curves of her bodice, emphasizing a dominant allure that is both ancient and ultra-modern. The figure at her feet provides the scale necessary to understand her magnitude; she is not just a woman, but an apex of authority, a tribute to the sublime tension between the observer and the observed.
Every stroke in this 1-of-1 edition is a deliberate act of worship toward the slender line of the silhouette. While she towers in human form, it is the underlying structure of her presence—the sharp, uncompromising lines and the undeniable power she conveys—that defines this work.
