With 'Obsidian Heels,' I aimed to plunge deep into the fetish allure of stiletto high heels, an obsession that fuels my artistic vision. I wanted to capture the undeniable seductive power radiating from these iconic objects, making them not just shoes, but symbols of female dominance and refined elegance. My technique involved applying thick impasto oil paint, allowing the texture itself to convey the raw energy and emotion inherent in the subject. The glossy patent leather finish of the heels is rendered with bold, expressionistic strokes, contrasting beautifully with the abstract, textured background that almost melts around them. The sharp, elegant curve of the arch is meticulously highlighted, as is the delicate balance of the pin-thin heel, emphasizing the structure that gives these shoes their provocative stance. This piece is a celebration of sultry footwear, an exploration of its profound impact and the luxurious, almost dangerous beauty it embodies.
